She's smart to wash it!. You slice it open and bring germs from the outside on teh knife blade intot he flesh!. You really should wash any melons or other fruit like that, even if you're not eating the skin!.

Lather up a dish rag w/ detergent and warm water and scrub the p/a down w/ the rang!. Rinse and pat dry w/ a clean dish towel!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As a rule you don't wash pineapples but if you're one of those people who like to wash everything then: rinse it under cold water!. Pineapples never touch the ground when growing and the only time they may be exposed to dirt etc!. is after they are picked and packed for shipping!. Washing will not hurt the pineapple!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You don't wash pineapples, but if you are worried about your knife bringing germs through the flesh or something just rinse it off like you would an apple and pat it down with paper towel so it doesn't slip when you cut it up!. The inside doesn't need to be washed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the outside of the pineapple is not ediable!. thus for, it does not need to be washed!.

However, draw you a sink of water, and dip it down in it and then let it drain off!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think you need to wash it!. You don't eat the outside right!?

Usually just rinsing it under the tap works fine though, or use the spray nozzle thing if your sink has one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
