When I make sandwhiches for the family, I buy each person's favorite lunch meat & cheese!. I also buy a loaf of Sweet Italian Bread from the bakery area (looks like fat french bread)!.
At home, I slice the sweet bread in half!. Load up each person's sandwich with the meat & cheese of their choice!.!.!. pop it in the oven until the cheese melts (about 5-10 minutes)!.
Then they can put whatever condiments on it they want!. THEY LOVE IT!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I saw an episode of Paula Dean a couple of weeks ago, and thought I would try her sandwich for dinner the other night!. It was an apple, cheddar, and bacon sammie that she cooked in a pan, and weighed it down with a cast iron skillet!. It was absolutely amazing!. I have 4 kids (and a husband) and they all loved it!. Here's the recipe!.!.!.

Sandwich:
2 slices (1/2-inch-thick) sourdough, multigrain or another hearty bread
4 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked crisp
4 slices Cheddar
1/2 Granny Smith apple, cored, sliced thin
Roasted Red Onion Mayo, recipe follows
Butter

Preheat a seasoned grill pan or griddle over medium heat!. Assemble this sandwich just as you would a traditional grilled cheese sandwich: spread 1 slice of bread with some Red Onion Mayo, then top with 2 slices Cheddar, the bacon, the apple slices, then 2 more slices of Cheddar, finishing with another mayo-slathered slice of bread!. Butter the outsides of the bread and transfer to the hot grill!. Grill about 3 minutes per side, since this sandwich is so thick!. Remove to a cutting board and cut the sandwich in half on the diagonal to serve!.

Roasted Red Onion Mayo:
1 medium red onion, chopped
2 teaspoons olive oil
Salt and pepper
1 cup mayonnaise

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F!.
On a small rimmed baking sheet, toss the red onion, olive oil, salt and pepper together!. Roast in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes until the onion is very soft, stirring occasionally!. Remove from oven and let cool!. Transfer to a food processor and buzz until finely chopped!. Add the mayo and pulse until smooth and combined!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes the bread with egg is great!. My friend turned me on to those years ago, but with out the sandwich, just the bread and egg by themselves!. She calls them glass houses!. Yum! My kids have been opening their sandwiches up and putting the chips inside to give it a crunch!. Buy some healthy chips and they won't know the difference!. I also make BBQ sandwiches like the restaurant I used to work at!.

Ingredients:
small hamburger buns
mustard
relish
bbq sauce
leftover pork or beef

All you need to do is chop the meat up and put it in a pan with however much sauce you want and cook it for about 30 minutes or so!.
Toast the buns in a skillet or on the grill!.
Put mustard and relish on the bottom bun and top with bbq meat!.
Add more sauce if you like and the top bun and enjoy!

And yes my kids add their chips to this, too!
I have never tried chicken or turkey but that is an idea!.
Let me know if you try it with this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This one I came up with on my own!. It's really healthy and super easy to make!.

Thin sliced chicken breasts
Fresh Avacado sliced for topping
Pepperjack cheese
plain hamburger buns

Season the chicken breasts with lowrys seasoning salt!.
Grill chicken on stove top or grill and top with pepperjack cheese (allowing time to melt)

Put on a bun, top with the fresh avacado slices (note: the melted cheese helps to hold the avacado from slipping outside the bun when eating)

other than that a little bit of mayo is good with it too!.!.!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
