I just made home-made some chicken stock?!

Question: I just made home-made some chicken stock!?
and I was wondering if it would be ok to use that in white rice instead of water for a better flavor!. The stock isn't salty, so thats not really a concern for me!. Would it be better to do a half and half of the stock and water, or should I just not try it!?

I used rosemary, basil, oregano, thyme, marjoram, garlic (the first 6 are in an "italian seasoning" blend), salt, pepper, and I think that I may have put a little savory in, as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes- this is what my Mom did for the best rice ever:

Melt 1 tbs butter in a saucepan and add 1/4 cup chopped onions

add 1 cup rice and stir to coat the kernals with the butter!.

add stock, 1/4 cup at a time, stirring until you have used 2 cups stock!.

cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes!.

For a great variation, add 1 cup chopped mushrooms with the onions!.

this is a wonderful, flavorful rice- enjoy!

I've done this!. And it works but does not look attractive!. It seems to work better and taste better if you and a cup of rice to some fried diced onions!. Add 2 cups of stock and sinner till cooked!. I also add a tiny bit of tumeric for colour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

oh yes use the stock in rice for sure 1/2 and 1/2 split with water Www@FoodAQ@Com

Using stock instead of water is wonderful! Unless you are making a sweet rice dish like rice pudding!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
