Zesting a Lemon without zester?!

Question: Zesting a Lemon without zester!?
How do you zest a lemon without a lemon zester!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Do you have a kitchen tool for shredding cheese and such!? Some of them have very small cutters that you could use to zest a lemon!. If not, then take a sharp serrated knife and scratch it on the lemon peel and you should get some small shreds of the zest!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A lemon zester just makes it easier to do, but without one, I do this (or I avoid recipes that call for lemon zest - LOL):

Use a paring knife to slice off only the yellow part, avoiding the pith (the white, which is bitter)!. Then get a good sharp chef or butcher knife and chop, chop, chop until it is very small!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

use a grater if you don't have one,use a fork, use the tips!. if not,you can use a bread knife, the edges is a bit i don't know how it's called,it's not sharp and you could use it to scrape the lemon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

use a microplaner or rasp!. Or, carefully cut off the yellow part (leaving white pith behind) and whirl in a food processor w/ a bit of sugar, if sugar is appropriate to recipe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Take a fork and scrape the lemon peel off!.
