molasses is a thick syrup as a byproduct in sugar production from cane or beet ,it is used in baking,in some countries it used like honey even they call it black honey in egypt
of course it not the same thing as pancake syrup as it made using sugar &water with flavoring boiling it to needed thickness,i don't think you will like it on pancake as it is thick with strong tasteWww@FoodAQ@Com

Nope, not the same!. Molasses is the left overs from sugar and corn syrup distillation!. Its the opposite of light Karo syrup!. Try using dark Karo syrup as a substitute!. It will not have any maple flavor, but most maple syrup uses artificial flavorings anyway!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No molasses is ,much thicker and you cant really use pancake syrup in place of itWww@FoodAQ@Com
