Whats the best sauce to buy!? What can i add seasoning wise to make it taste better!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Italian sausage, plus ground beef, works great!.
I bought some Newman's Own, italian sausage flavor, and it's the best i've had in forever!.

but my fave is homemade - take two cans of diced tomatoes with the garlic, basil and oregano already mixed in!. Take one can, and one can tomato sauce, and put in blender, pulse a few seconds!. add that, the other can (with juice or w/o) to ground beef, cook 15 minutes!.

always season your ground beef - with garlic salt/seasoning salt!. if you want it meatless, buy something fancy like newmans, classico, barilla, bertolli!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Say no to pre-made sauce! ! Cook up 1 lb ground beef, add onions, garlic (I prefer minced garlic from a jar) and a bit of pepper!. Pick up some italian seasoning and add to taste!. Add 1 can of tomato sauce (small or large can depending on size of family) 1-2 cans of diced, seasoned tomatos- they have all different kinds I prefer the kind with roasted garlic S&W brand!. You can also uget the bigger stewed tomatoes!. Then 1-2 small cans of tomato paste- also can get this seasoned!. Then add more minced garlic, italian seasoning, a dash of sugar and you got some very yummy sauce!. also, if I feel like cheating I add Spaghetti seasoning, you get it in the same section as the gravy mix, etc!. This is my recipe for the best tomato sauce!. It doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes of prep work, and it tastes 100 times better than store-bought sauce!.

1 Can Crushed Tomatoes
2 Cloves of garlic, diced (or a couple of tablespoons of jarred chopped garlic)
1 small onion, diced
1/2 Green Pepper, Diced
4 Button Mushrooms, Sliced
Dried or Fresh Basil and Oregano

Sautee all of the veggies on medium-high heat in 1bsp of olive oil until soft, about 5 minutes!.
Add in the garlic, 2 tsp basil and 2 tsp oregano, as well as a dash of salt and pepper
Cook for another minute to incorporate the flavours, then add in the canned tomatoe puree!.
Cook for a few more minutes to heat the tomato sauce and mix the flavours!. Taste before you eat and add salt and pepper as necessary, tomatoes tend to need salt!.

Hope you enjoy! When I make sauce I just add in whatever vegetables I have on hand, so use what I said, or use none, or use whatever is in your fridge!

I don't buy sauce because I don't like the way any of them taste!. An easy (relatively speaking) alternative:

1) saute some onions and garlic (until the onions are translucent)
2) add in a mixture of Italian sausage and ground beef (combined total of about 1 lb), brown until the meat starts to carmelize (brown) a bit
3) Add in one large can of diced tomatoes and one large can of crushed tomatoes!.
4) Add herbs/spices (oregano, basil, red pepper flakes and/or "italian seasoning" will do)!. Simmer the sauce for about 15 minutes (if you like runny sauce, leave the lid on, if you like a thicker sauce, take the lid off and perhaps add a small can of tomato paste)!. I also like to add a splash of red wine vinegar to my sauce!.
5) Season it with salt/pepper!.

That's pretty much what I do!. You can vary it to your particular tastes!. And it's about ten times better than any pre-made sauce that I've ever had!. The way I see it, if you're going to add a bunch of stuff to a premade sauce to make it taste the way you want, why not just start from the beginning!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use sausage in mine!. Gives it a little bit of zest!. Hunts has a new sauce usually on the bottom shelf, canned, called Zesty!. I like it and it has a good flavor!. Other than that I like to add a jar of five cheese!.

I get either Italian Sausage links and slice them in bite sized pieces or ground sausage and cook it with the hamburger meat!. I use sirloin, especially if I add the sausage!. Saute it with a large chopped sweet onion!. Add some Garlic Powder and fresh minced garlic and the sauce and heat and enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I reccomend the Francesco Rinaldi! The types of this company I reccomend are the meat flavored (you still have to add meat) and the original!. Add some freshly cooked (seasoned to your taste) ground beef into it, chopped parsley, salt and pepper, and some chili pepper! Trust me, it will set fireworks off in your mouth!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I usually mix hunts 5 cheese and garlic and herb then I add
more garlic
a tsp of sugar
and a tsp of butter or margarine
1/2 lb italian pork sausage browned and drained
1/2 lb ground beef browned and drained
sauteed onion mushrooms and green peppers (if you like)
I also always stir in a quarter cup of parm cheese at the last minute

While you're cooking the spaghetti, put some virgin olive oil, lemon juice, crushed garlic and salt and pepper into a bowl - stir with fork!. also toast some pine nuts and grate some parmesan!. Once spaghetti is cooked, drain, pour boiling water over to rinse, drain again and tip into dressing mix!. Stir in pine nuts and top with parmesan cheese!. Stir again!. I could eat it now with garlic bread!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Brown up some hot Italian sausage along with your ground beef to add a little zing or add some crushed red pepper flakes to your sauce!. I make my sauce from scratch, but if you must buy jarred sauce I'd try something like Emeril's or Barilla!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

saute some onions, garlic and add to prego or ragu, or whatever sauce you like
brown some ground beef and drain off the grease and add to sauce
add chopped fresh parsley, basil
add salt
add fresh cracked pepper
add crushed red peppersWww@FoodAQ@Com

The other ppl have good suggestions, I would also add a few oregano leaves or oregano oil, it's extremely healthy and tastes great!Www@FoodAQ@Com
