Okay those look so cute and delicious!
To get that look not only do you want to use a piping tool you want a certain type of frosting!. We always simply called it fluffy frosting :)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 dash salt
2 egg whites, unbeaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine sugar, water, cream of tartar and salt in saucepan!.
Bring to boiling, stirring until sugar dissolves!.
Very slowly add sugar syrup to unbeaten egg whites in mixing bowl, beating constantly with electric mixer until stiff peaks form (about 7 minutes)!.
Beat in vanilla!.
If you want pink add a drop of red food coloring:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you don't have a piping bag with a plain tip, you can fill a zip-loc bag about 1/2 full with the icing, seal the top of the bag, using scissors, cut of about a 1/2" corner off!.
Starting from the outside edge, pipe the icing in a circle and continuing to pipe in a circle until you reach the center!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need a certain type of piping tool, one with a wide nozzle like a 'Mr Whippy' soft serve ice cream machine!.
Most piping kits come with something like it, so you can practice!. Alternatively, you can make a piping bag from several layers of greaseproof papers wrapped into a cone shape!. Adjusting the 'mouth of the bag (the opening of the cone) allows you to create new shapes!.
Those home made bags are super cheap but only last one or two cupcakes!.
Cheers :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need to pipe it on your cup cakes!. The easiest way it to fill a zip top bag with your icing/frosting, snip off a small corner of the bag and pipe it onto the cupcake!. You can practice on a piece of wax paper or what ever (then scrape it back into the bag and re-pipe it!.) It's kinda fun to do!. We make carrot shapes on our carrot cake at work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
