Tomato paste as a base for a light sauce?!

Question: Tomato paste as a base for a light sauce!?
I tend to sautee ingredients like garlic, onions and peppers to place over pasta, but usually don't like to use tomatoes unless I'm making traditional red sauces!. But I'd like to have just a hint of tomato flavor to toss the pasta in without it becoming a red sauce dish!. Would just a tablespoon (more or less!?) of tomato paste do!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it would be fine!. Just enough to give it flavor, but not over power it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tomato paste is rather thick, so you might have to dilute it to get it to adhere to all the ingredients!. Might want to consider a tablespoon or two of tomato sauce instead!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
