Recipe for Swedish Meatballs that is simple and I have the ingredients?!
I have:
Ground Beef
Onions
Bread Crumbs
Eggs
Seasonings
!.!.!. but I do not know what or how to make these! I need a recipe that doesn't involve cream soup or evaporated milk!. My husband used to make Swedish meatballs with plain meatballs with brown gravy overtop served over egg noodles!. I'm looking for something similar (with brown gravy and egg noodles) just not with elaborate meatballs!. Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can make meatballs and gravy with what you have but not Swedish meatballs!. Swedish meatballs have ground beef and veal and are cooked in a milk-based gravy with dill!.
Based on what you have, though, chop the onions fine and saute in butter!. Put the ground beef, bread crumbs, and a beaten egg in a bowl with seasonings to taste!. Add the onions and mix well with you hands!. (Hands work best!)
Form into smallish meatballs, put on a plate and set aside!. Now decide what sauce you want!. You can use a jar of gravy if you have it or make a simple gravy with 2 Tbls melted butter in which you brown up 2Tbls!. flour!. Add 2 cups of chicken broth -- which I prefer to beef broth -- and let cook until thickened!. If it's too thick, add some water!.
Now depending on how lean your ground beef is, you can plop the meatballs right into the sauce and let them simmer until done or you can brown them first and drain off the fat and then add them to the sauce!. Either way, check for salt and pepper in the sauce, serve over hot cooked noodles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
