Question: Can you make Roasted Garlic Puree with minced garlic!?
I use garlic in almost everything I make!. Therefore, i buy the biggest jar of minced garlic I can get!. I would like to make a portobello mushroom appetizer!. The recipe calls for "roasted garlic puree" and all I have is the minced garlic!? Can I roast these or no!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No, it will burn!. To make roasted garlic all you have to do is cut the top third of a head of garlic off, drizzle a bit of oil on top and put on a bit of salt and pepper!. Roast in the oven about 25 minutes at 375-400 degrees - you don't need the clay roaster they will sell you at kitchen stores!. When the garlic is soft, it is ready!. Squeeze it out of the papery skin and mash it!. I like to buy a bag of about 20 heads of garlic and roast a bunch at once!. It freezes well in tupperware containers or you can freeze it in an ice cube tray for single serving portions!. Good luck!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
