Answers:
At home we eat prickly pear cactus from time to time!.

With a little knife we shave the thorns off carefully!. We double check to see that there are no thorns on both sides of the cactus!. Then we boil it until it becomes soft!. After that you can put any desired seasoning or anything else!. For breakfast i like them with eggs and for lunch i like them with ground beef and salsa!.

I couldn't tell you about the other types of cactus though, never tried them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Which kind of cactus!? I've used prickley pear pads and fruit both!.

Wear good gardening gloves and use tongs to handle pads and fruit when cutting them!. After cutting you can hold the pad or fruit over a flame to burn away needles and the fine prickley hairs!.

Pads can be sliced, put in cold water or pickling liquid and refrigerated to be eaten when cold!. They can also be peeled and sauteed in butter or cooked like any vegetable in a soup or stew!.

Fruit can be peeled and eaten stewed or it makes great jelly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If bugs bunny cartoons are correct, you can cut a hole in the stalk of those big cacti and water will come out like a water faucet!Www@FoodAQ@Com
