Home cooks, what cookware and bakeware do you LOVE?!

Question: Home cooks, what cookware and bakeware do you LOVE!?
I'm getting married in several months and my mother has offered to buy me a new set of cookware as a wedding gift! I've been looking at different lines of moderately-priced cookware and reading some reviews, but would love to hear some opinions!. What cookware (or bakeware) do you use and why do you love it!? Specific brands and lines, please! Anyone have any cookware that they would NOT recommend!?

I'm so excited to finally trade in my tin-foil thin Ikea Basics pots that could burn water!

Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

First of all, Congratulations on your upcoming Marriage and kudos's to your Mother for offering this gift to you!. I personally love the All Clad saute pans, (although they are a little pricey) but in my opinion, worth every cent and they will last you until you and your husband are old and grey!. I use the Kitchen Aid hard anodized, non stick skillet pans because they are tough, disperse heat evenly and have a high heat tolerance!. I love the Air Bake pans for baking, light grey color, no bright silver or dark pans for me, I love Corning Ware for all of my casserole dishes!. Surprisingly, I got a set of T-FAL sauce pans and dutch oven from my Grandmother about 20 years ago and it's still kick in", who knew!? I like certain pans for certain uses, so it depends on how you cook what you like to cook and how often you are going to use them for certain applications, so that's a personal choice!. Unfortunately, there are a few that I would NOT recommend to you, Farberware or Chef Essentials, these are the only two that were gifted to me that I do not like, the bottoms are thin, the hands are not heat proof to over 200 degrees and just don't cut if for me, even though I don't do a lot of heavy cooking at home!. I would love a Cast Iron Skillet for frying though, but with my age now, it's not a good idea for me!. These are just my personal opinions with what I've experienced using and being around this business for a few decades!. This choice should be whatever is comfortable for you, match your cooking needs and be within your budget!. Again, congratulations on your upcoming Wedding, best of luck to you being a Mrs!.!!!!!! The one item that I use several times a week is my cast iron skillet with lid!. Actually, it was my mother's first and is over 70 years old!. It is a 3 inch deep skillet and the lid is another inch deep, so the duo can function as a dutch oven, too!. Any brand heavy-duty cast iron skillet will become your best friend in the kitchen! Even though I love my Calphalon non-stick pieces, too, this skillet can cook anything! Best wishes to you!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You NEED some hard anodized (like Calphalon)
You NEED some stainless (like All-Clad)
You NEED some well seasoned cast iron
You NEED some enamel coated cast iron
For the most part you will get what you pay for but there are lots of big name commercial endorsements out there that are expensive but junk!.
Try to avoid anything that had a food network star's name or likeness on it!.

I must say that the stainless steel contemporary Calphalon set is what I own and is well worth the price!. Handwash them at all times!. I also have some on the Calphalon contemporary non stick pans and nothing sticks to them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
