Ginger Snaps
8oz self-raising flour
pinch salt
1teaspoon ground ginger
4oz caster sugar
3oz margarine
4oz syrup
1egg beaten
Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly
Warm the margarine and syrup, beat together
Add the dry ingredients and beaten egg alternately, a little at a time, to the margarine and syrup, mix well
Place single teaspoonfuls, in rounds on greased baking sheets
Bake in moderate oven (325-350f gas mark 3-4)about 15 minutes Www@FoodAQ@Com

This recipe will make 18, sweet and crispy biscuits, and is even more fun with nuts added!.

Ginger Walnut Drop Biscuits I

Ingredients:

1 3/4 c Flour
1/4 lb Piece of gingerroot, peeled
2 ts Double-acting baking powder
1/2 c Firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 ts Baking soda
1 c Walnuts; finely chopped
1 ts Salt
1/2 c Milk
1/2 c Cold unsalted butter

Instructions:

Into a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt!. Add the butter and blend the mixture until it resembles meal!. Stir in the ginger puree and juice, the brown sugar and the walnuts!. Add the milk and stir until it just forms a soft sticky dough!.

Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto an unbuttered baking sheet and bake the biscuits in the middle of a preheated 425 oven for 15 to 17 minutes, or until they are golden!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ingredients
115 grams / 4 oz of butter
200 grams / 7 oz of white sugar
1 tablespoon of golden syrup
1 egg
225 grams / 8 oz of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
3 teaspoons of ground ginger
2 teaspoons of mixed spice
? teaspoon of baking soda

Preparation
Preheat oven to 180°C, 350°F or gas mark 4!.

In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar, add the golden syrup and the egg, mixing well!.

Add the flour, baking powder, ginger, spice and baking soda and mix until well combined!.

Roll into small balls, and place on lined baking tray allowing room to spread!.

Do not flatten the balls!.

Bake for 15 minutes!.
