Leaves for fall cake?!

Question: Leaves for fall cake!?

Answers:
I did the painting with chocolate!. I saw it in Gourmet Cooking Magazine and had to try it!. Take a flat leaf and wipe it clean (gently), using a regular paint brush or pastry brush, paint it with melted chocolate!. make sure you paint it evenly!. When cool peel away gently!.

The leaves are goregeous!. I would use different colored chocolate for the fall colors!.!.!.like get a bar of white and add some color to it!. (The paste kind not liquid food coloring or else it will thin out the chocolate)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can tell you (since I own a bakery) that you can do any of the things mentioned above!.!.!.use fake leaves, paint chocolate on very clean leaves and peel away the chocolate to use on the cake, or use chocolate in molds!. Any of those ways will work!.!.!.it will depend on what look you want for the cake and how much time you want to spend on the project!. You can also color some fondant and use a cookie cutter shaped like a leaf to decorate the cake!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't know how well that would work!. I think it would be tough to get the shape that you want or the fondant may stick to them and not come off easily!. I think that chocolate is a tough medium too!. However; I have a solution!

Here's a website where you can order leaf molds for a couple of bucks:
http://www!.sugarcraft!.com/catalog/candym!.!.!.

A girlfriend of mine that I cater with made candy seashells out of chocolate & white chocolate using candy molds to decorate a beach themed wedding cake!. It turned out gorgeous!. The molds shown are very similar to what she used!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yeah, I think it should be as long as you clean the fake leaves well enough!. Maybe wash them well with dial soap, rinse out very well and let it dry!. If you do that, I dont see why not:) Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definitely! As long as the leaves are cleaned thoroughly!. For chocolate to be painted on the leaves, I suggest you buy the real leaves that has not been sprayed with chemicals!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Lay the leaves under saran wrap and then paint over them with heated milk chocolate, then peel away!. This leaves a nice veined imprint!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
