I messed up making spagheti, can you tell me how you make it?!
I followed the directions on the package to bring water to a boil and put contents in for 7 minutes which I did!. THey turned out crunchy and undercooked!.
My next dilema is that I didn't know where to prepare the sauce so I did it in the same pot as I boiled the spagheti in while the spagheti was in the drainer - i heated olive oil then added a jar of tomato sauce and mixed in a block of jack cheese!. Then I didn't know if I was supposed to add the spagheti back in that pot or not, so I put the pasta in a glass bowl and added the sauce and it just seemed all mixed up and confusing!.
Can you share how you do it please!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Boiling the Pasta:
Bring the water to a boil, and add the pasta!. If you are using long noodles (spaghetti, linguini, etc) use a wooden or plastic spoon to push on the noodles right under the water until the ends are all underwater, then give it all a good stir!.
The water will stop boiling or slow down when you put the noodles in!. When it comes back to a full boil, turn it down to medium-high and stir the noodles every minute or so!. When they are halfway cooked, the noodles will look yellow all over except at the very ends/edges, where they will look whitish!. That whitish color is what you want the whole pasta to look like!.
Once it looks like there is no longer a color difference from middle to edge/end, pull out one noodle, rinse it carefully with cool water (don't let the water knock it off the spoon!) and bite into it!. If it is still at all crunchy in the middle, wait another minute and try again!.
As soon as the noodles seem to be done, turn off the heat and remove the pan from the burner (move it to another burner or to a hot pad)!. Drain it in a strainer or colander!.
Sauce:
If you want meat in your sauce, you have two options!.
#1: cook the meat in a skillet while your noodles boil, then add the sauce and optional olive oil and extra herbs when the meat is done and the grease has been drained out!.
#2: after you drain the pasta, toss it with olive oil and put it into a bowl, then cook the meat in the same pan you made the pasta in!. Add sauce, heat!. This can be awkward if you made the pasta in a small saucepan!.
If you don't want meat in your sauce, the easiest way to do it is to put half of the sauce in the pan that you used for the pasta, then pour the pasta back into it, then the rest of the sauce on top!. Dividing the sauce this way makes it much easier to mix, and keeps the noodles from sticking to the bottom!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it was crunchy you just need to leave it in longer!. Take a piece out and try it before you strain it!.
As for the sauce, put it into a smaller pot and set it on a low setting, be careful because if it gets to hot it will jump out all over the place!.
Leave the spaghetti in the strainer, and pick it out with a ladle!.!.
Spaghetti is like one of the only things I've mastered for college ha!.

Leave the pasta in the water longer!. Pull out a piece and taste it before draining!. Warm the sauce in a separate pan, and add grated cheese once the sauce is on the pasta!. You may want to try something other than Monterey Jack, I think that would wind up too gooey!. Buy a little hunk of Parmesan and grate it over the pasta!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
Heres a great recipe help site allrecipies!.com
I boil water!. Spray water with non stick!. I like to break my spaghetti and place just a handful at time in then add another and start stirring!. This helps stop clumping!. I boil mine 9-10 min!. While that's going on work on sauce!. Occasionally check and stir spaghetti!. Its fine to serve sauce seperat, even the meatballs!. But I put a little sauce with meat balls!. HINT, you can get meatballs pre made in freezer area if short on time!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The amount of time listed on the package is an estimate!. You should start checking the pasta at the lowest time listed!. Grab a piece out, let it cool, then a bite!.
For the sauce, I usually make my own from scratch!. What went wrong with yours was probably the mix of tomato sauce and jack!. Blech!. Go with cheese or tomatoes, not both!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

i didn't know it was possible to mess up making spaghetti!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
For the pasta, I just get a pot of water, add a little salt, wait until it boils, then add the noodles!. You have to just keep an eye on it, and keep checking it!. I usually get a fork, scoop a few strings out, and taste it!. It should be 'al dente', or 'to the teeth', meaning it has a little bite to it, not to hard and not too soft!. I hear you can also throw it on the wall, and if it sticks, its supposed to be done, but I don't do that!.
As for the sauce, you can get a jar of spaghetti sauce in all varieties of flavors, with or without meat, at the store for $2-3!. I just dump it in!. If I don't have a jar and make sauce from scratch, I get a can of tomato sauce, a can of stewed tomatoes, and heat it together!. You really don't need to add cheese right in with the sauce!. Just grate some on top and let it melt!. Too much cheese will make it get thick and dry!.
Once the spaghetti is drained and you got the sauce heated up, you can either plate up the noodles and spoon some sauce over it, or mix in the spaghetti in with the sauce in the pot!. I usually don't mix in the sauce and noodles, because it kind of gets too 'dry'!. I like the liquid sauce over my spaghetti!.
Hope that kinda helps!. Best wishes! Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am hesitant, but here goes:
Typically, I brown the ground meat (1/2 lb, or less) with a teaspoon of oil, salt, sliver of onion, garlic and a bay leaf (or two)!.
Once the meat is browned - drain the juice!.
Simultaneously, I'll have a pot of sauce simmering - right out of the can or jar!.
BUT, first I may add a little pinch or two of sugar to the sauce to drive some of the sour tartness out of the tomato, (when to flavor) I'll add the ground meat (simmer the sauce @20 -30 mins)!.
Follow the directions on the label:
Most pasta I think takes a tad longer than 7 minutes!.!.!.
Boil the water and add salt, a sliver of Onion & a teaspoon of oil!. (They say, when you can fling a spaghetti strand and it sticks to the wall - its done)!.
When the pasta is done cooking, drain out all the water and give it a quick cold water rinse and drain!.
Put the pasta back into the original pot and add a half teaspoon of butter and mix in until it's melted!.
Quickly, pour the sauce onto the pasta and mix evenly!.
If you have some mozzarella cheese or even yellow, toss in a couple of pieces and mix till melted!.
Good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com

Boil your water!. Add 2 Table spoons of oil and 2 Tablespoons of salt and stir!. Place your noodles in the boiling water and stir for 15 seconds with tongs or a fork(this will keep your noodles separate and they will cook evenly!. Pull one or two noodles every couple of minutes and bite into them to see how done they are!.
When they are done to your liking, pour the noodles into a strainer(DO NOT rinse)!. Heat up your suce in the same pot(stir often)!. You can return your noodles to the sauce right before you serve or you can put your noodles on a platter and cover with sauce!. Grate your cheese over the pasta and sauce later!.!.!.!.I wouldn't recommend Jack though!.!.!.try Parmesan or Mozzarella

OK, when your water is boiling, put in a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of olive oil with your spaghetti!. After it has cooked the 7 or 8 minutes, get a couple of spaghettis out and run some cool water on them and try it!. if they are not soft enough keep cooking, Some people say if you take a piece and throw it up on the ceiling and it sticks, it's done, but just trying a bite is better!. Homemade sauce is great, but sometimes you just have to buy it in a jar!. There are so many different kinds!. Try Prego or Ragu and don't put any cheese in it!. Heat it up in the microwave if you are short on time/pans!. Just put it in a bowl first and cover it with a paper towel!. After you strain the spaghetti, put it in your glass bowl, pour some hot sauce on top, then sprinkle with some grated parmesan!.Buon Appetito!Www@FoodAQ@Com
cook the spaghetti al dente or according to package direction!. Drain and set aside!. Prepare sauce by: Heating oil around 2 tbsps in a frying pan!. Saute minced onions, add ground beef, let cook till it is brown in color, then add salt, tomato sauce, it can be canned or bottle, bring to boil, add some italian seasoning, cook according to your own taste, add a little of ground pepper!. Serve in separate dishes along side with each other, just put servers!. When you are about to eat, just put the noodles in a plate, top with sauce, then sprinkle cheese on top!. You can add some olives and ham slices if you like, in the sauce for a special recipe!. Happy eating!. This is one of my best recipe and sometimes I substitute white sauce for the tomato sauce, equally delicious!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
