Laura is right, since a peanut is a legume & not a nut it is a vegetable like all other legumes ,this one grows underground & nothing new in serving up boiled peanuts, they taste great served up steaming hot straight from the pot of boiling slightly salted water !.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Technically, peanuts are classified as "legumes" and are similar to other beans in this family, including lentils, black beans, lima beans etc!. They are not nuts!. Legumes are good sources of proteins and slow-digesting carbohydrates!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
