can someone tell me how to prepare hamburger patties that are nice and soft, like at mc Donalds, mine are always hard like a brick!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

You need to put an egg or two into an electric mixer!.

Then add an onion of two and turn it on high!.

Add this to the mince and work it through with your hands!.

Don't push down on the patties after putting them in the pan!.

i discovered the secret to great burgers: you make them as big around but as thin as you possibly can (like 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick)!. that way, when you grill them and the meat shrinks up, you're not left with a burger that's so thick and tough you can barely bite it!. I had way too many burgers that were so dry that they seemed to get bigger in your mouth! season them with a little bit of montreal seasoning and be sure to use ground beef with some fat content!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You may be overcooking them!. Cook them on the first side until you see the juices start to ooze out on the top!. Turn them and cook until firm to the touch, but no longer!. It will be somewhat squishy until it's cooked through!. This should take about 4 to 6minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the burger!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
