now im confused which is better in cooking!.!. Virgin oils or Butter!?

Answers:
You're using "virgin oil" as a generic phrase!. Actually there is only virgin olive oil, which refers to how it is pressed!. The difference in health between oils (and butter) depends on what the oil is pressed from, not how it is pressed!.

There is no health difference between virgin olive oil and regular olive oil, but both are much healthier than coconut oil or peanut oil!. It has to do with the types of fat in them!. Almost all oils are healthier than butter, but when you get into some ot the oils with more saturated fat, then the difference is significantly reduced!. And you can also make butter healthier by heating it and skimming off the fat, making it into clarified butter ( or ghee, as they call it in India)!.

If you are concerned with health, generally stick to olive oil or canola oil or safflower oil!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like to think (virgin) olive oil is better than butter and healthier!.

Extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) comes from cold pressing of the olives, contains no more than 0!.8% acidity, and is judged to have a superior taste!. Extra-virgin and virgin olive oil may not contain refined oil!.
Virgin olive oil has an acidity less than 2%, and is judged to have a good taste!.

Sounds like the dairy farmers have gotten together to buy a billboard!

Butter can burn at high temps!. Use olive oil (extra virgin or not) or vegetable oil!. If you want the flavor of butter, mix it w/ a little OO in the pan and the OO keeps the butter from burning as quickly!. And liquid oils are always healthier than solid fats like butter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cold pressed olive oil is best!. Butter can 'spit' in the pan if overheated!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

we use extra virgin olive oil for all our cookingWww@FoodAQ@Com
