Question: I need a recipe for REGULAR bread that does not take yeast!.!.!.!.!?
I am broke until payday but out of sandwich bread for school lunches!. I want to make bread but have no yeast!. I have everything else I could make, flour and stuff!. ANY ideas please!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com


Answers:
Preheat oven to 400oF!.
Ingredients
4 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tbsp baking soda
1? cups water
2 tsp vinegar (cider or white)

Combine dry ingredients and mix!. Combine water and vinegar!. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix!. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead for two or three minutes (no need to overdo it)!. Shape into a round (about 1? to 2 inches high), then place on pan!. Dip a sharp knife into flour and cut an 'X' into the top of the loaf!. Bake 40 minutes!. Remove, and while hot, glaze with 1 tbsp melted or softened butter!.

OPTIONS: Go to the bread menu and check out the various glazes!. Any of those can be used to achieve a desired result!. The butter glaze gives flavor as well as softens the crust!.

The truth is, however, that yeast free bread can be made easily in under an hour!. Just follow the simple recipe below:

* 2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
* 3 tablespoons white sugar
* 1 12 ounce can of carbonated lemon-lime soda

To begin, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan!. Next, Combine the flour, sugar and soda!. Put the mixture in the greased pan!. Bake the mixture for 45 minutes!.

*If the soda you use contains sugar, lessen the amount of sugar used in the recipe!.

Easy bread

3 cups of self rising flour
1/4 cup of sugar
1 can of beer
Mix together, throw into a loaf pan sprayed with oil or buttered!.

Put into oven at 350 degrees F for 55 minutes!.

No Self Rising Flour!? - 2TBS Baking powder & 1 teaspoon salt added to 3 Cups flour (can leave out the salt)

Variation add 1/4 C chopped pepperoni and 1/3 C cubed cheese
Add extra Italian seasoning and 1/2 tsp of dried minced garlic

Beer bread
3 C flour, sifted
3 ts baking powder (if using all purpose flour)
1 ts salt (opt)
1/4 C sugar
beer (12oz)
1/4 C-1/2 C melted butter

Preheat your oven to 375 F!.
Mix dry ingredients & beer!. Pour into greased loaf pan!.
Pour melted butter over the top!.

Bake 1 hour!.
Cool at least 15 minutes!.



Farmgirl Susan's Almost Too Easy Whole Wheat Beer Bread Recipe
Makes One Loaf

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon baking powder
14 ounces beer (or 12 ounces beer & 2 ounces water)

Optional glaze: 1 egg & 2 teaspoons water, beaten

Heat oven to 375 degrees!. Combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a large mixing bowl!. Slowly stir in beer and mix just until combined!. Batter will be thick!. Spread in a greased 8-inch loaf pan (I love my Chicago Metallic Commercial Loaf Pans--they're great for yeast breads, too), brush with egg glaze if desired, and bake until golden brown and a toothpick stuck in the center comes out clean, about 45 minutes!.Cool in the pan on a rack for 10 minutes!. Remove from pan and cool 10 more minutes!. Serve warm or at room temperature!.

Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients
240g whole wheat flour
50g wheat sprouts
1 tablespoon walnuts (sliced)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon olive oil
375 ml soy milk
2 teaspoons raisins

Action
a!. Mix milk with the rest of ingredients to paste!.
Except oil and raisins!.
b!. Bush oil to the steamer, and place the dough into it!.
c!. Cover and steam for 15 minutes on strong fire!.
d!. Off fire, remove the cover and add the raisins!.
e!. Cover the steamer for another 10 minutes, on
low fire!.


Quick Oat Bread

Ingredients
240g oat flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
250 ml milk
1 egg (well beaten)
2 tablespoons molasses or corn syrup
2 tablespoons olive oil

Action
a!. Mix and sift all dry ingredients!.
b!. Preheat oven to 180°C!.
c!. Add gradually milk, egg, molasses, and oil!.
d!. Bake in greased bread pan for 25 minutes!.
e!. Slice when it is cold!.

Note: When you bake them in muffin pan,
then they are Oat Flour Muffins!.


Corn Bread

Ingredients
120g corn meal
120g plain flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
250 ml sour milk
1 egg (beaten)

Action
a!. Sift all the dry ingredients together in a bowl!.
b!. Beat thoroughly, add egg, and milk!.
c!. Put mixture in a buttered and floured pan!.
d!. Preheat oven to 180°C!.
e!. Bake for about 30 minutes!.


Wonderful Fruit rolls

Ingredients
250g flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg
125 ml milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
80g raisins
80g walnuts (chopped)
Little orange or lemon rinds (fine chopped)
Melted butter

Action
a!. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar in
a mixing bowl!.
b!. Add butter, mix together thoroughly!.
c!. Mix the egg to the milk, and add into the dough
mixture!.
d!. Knead lightly till a smooth dough is formed!.
e!. Roll out about 1 cm thick, spread butter
carefully over the dough!.
f!. Sprinkle sugar and dusting of cinnamon
over this!.
g!. Sprinkle raisins, orange rinds, and
walnuts over the sugar!.
h!. Roll from you into compact roll, cut
into slices 1!.5 cm thick!.
i!. Place close together in bread pan,
brush over with melted butter!.
j!. Bake in preheated 180°C oven, for about
15 minutes!.

REGULAR bread requires yeast!. Baking powder could yield something approximating bread, but not really a good idea!. Try borrowing some bread (the slang for money) from a neighbor and go buy a loaf!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
