Homemade vegetable soup with everything right out of the garden -- purple hull peas (that we sat together and shelled while visiting and watching tv) with okra and cornbread -- turkey and homemade cornbread dressing with turkey gravy !.!.!.!.!. I grew up living all over the place, my dad was in the military, and he didn't like turkey!. My grandmother taught me a whole bunch of things about food which is why I am so passionate about cooking now!. She taught me that Soft Pretzels heated with a bit of Maple Syrup taste delicious! She has given me many of her exclusive recipes for her delectable pasta salad that everyone raves about to her Lasagna and much more!. She introduced me to fried spam with onion and sweet green peppers as a child!. She also introduced me to an apple dip that I loved as a child which used cream cheese, milk, brown sugar, and vanilla!.
