When you go to those terryaki shops, the basic chicken on rice type of deal, is there a way to make that kind of thicker sweet terryaki sauce they have at home!? I already have tons of bottles of terryaki sauce already, so what else would I need!.

There are 3 basic ingredients in teryaki sauce!. Soy sauce, fresh ginger, and pineapple juice!. Soy sauce is made from fermented soy beans, and is VERY salty (too salty in fact)!. Take a "hand" of fresh ginger and cut off a "finger"!. Peel it, and slice it into 1/4 inch slices!. Using the flat side of a knife, smash it down!. Add to the soy sauce!. The ginger cuts the salty taste, as well as adding a nice taste!. Now add pineapple juice!. Canned Dole is OK!. Start with 1/2 cup soy, add 5 to 6 of the ginger "coins", and about 3 tablespoons of pineapple!. Let sit in the fridge for a half an hour!. Taste!. More ginger if it's still too salty, and more pineapple if you want it sweeter!. Variations include adding brown sugar , crushed garlic, and any herb you like (basil, oregano, rosemary, bay leaf, etc)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
