Wtf are Chitterlings?!
I read this question asking about whether ppl liked them or not!.!.!. most ppl liked them but said they smelled funny!.!.

They are the young offspring of the American Chitter!. They leave their parents at about 4 months of age to mate and produce their own chitterlings!. They are hunted in the south and are good deep fried, though baked or broasted is healthier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Something you see in the deep south!. It's pig intestine!. They are cleaned thoroughly (or at least they are supposed to be) then boiled or fried!.
In many rural areas, you didn't have much so you wasted nothing!. The saying goes "you use everything but the squeal"!. A lot of things that were once eaten because of poverty are now eaten because of tradition and you still see it on the menu in some soul food restaurants!.

Chitterlings, which are colloquially pronouced "chit-linz" are deep fried pig intestines!. They smell funny b/c the lower down the intestines come from, the more of what they had in them resembles $#!@!.
They are mostley eaten by poor people in the south, and among those, they are primarily black!. I think it's an aquired taste!. I wouldn't go near them w/ a 10-meter pole!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is fried pork intestines!. It is a Southern thing, a delicacy to SOME!. I really don't like them!. I'm from Louisiana and they make them a lot there!. I have tried some weird things, and some weren't bad, but these aren't impressive!. I really don't know how people eat them!. To each his own I guess!. LOL !!

Whoa whoa whoa!! Yes they are southern, but they're not considered a delicacy to the whole south or something lol!. It is an african american thing!.!.!. and I don't know that even they consider it a delicacy as much as 'soul food!.' It's a comfort food for those who enjoy it!. lol!.
