INGREDIENTS
10 cups all-purpose apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup water

1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter, melted



DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C)!.
Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch pan!. Mix the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together, and sprinkle over apples!. Pour water evenly over all!.
Combine the oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together!. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture!.

Ingredients
Crumble:
300g/10?oz plain flour, sieved pinch of salt
175g/6oz unrefined brown sugar
200g/7oz unsalted butter, cubed at room temperature
Knob of butter for greasing

Filling:
450g/1lb apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1cm/?in piece
50g/2oz unrefined brown sugar
1 tbsp plain flour
1 pinch of ground cinnamon



Method
1!. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4!.
2!. Place the flour and sugar in a large bowl and mix well!. Taking a few cubes of butter at a time rub into the flour mixture!. Keep rubbing until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs!.
2!. Place the fruit in a large bowl and sprinkle over the sugar, flour and cinnamon!. Stir well being careful not to break up the fruit!.
3!. Butter a 24cm/9in ovenproof dish!. Spoon the fruit mixture into the bottom, then sprinkle the crumble mixture on top!.
4!. Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes until the crumble is browned and the fruit mixture bubbling!.
5!. Serve with thick cream or custard!.

Ingredient:

6 baking apples
1 cup oats (any kind)
1 1/2 cups white flour
2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 - 2/3 cups margarine

Directions:

Peel and core apples, and cut into extremely thin slices (the thinner the better)!.

Mix with approx 1 cup brown sugar (more or less, depending on your taste), coating the apples, and spread mixture evenly in the bottom of a cake pan!.

In a bowl, add oats, flour, remaining cup of brown sugar, baking powder and cinnamon!. Stir together well, then gradually add margarine and crumble with fingers until a chunky but not overly crumbly texture is reached (mixture should stick together when pressed firmly)!.

Place oat topping over the apples, and press together lightly!.

Put in preheated 325 degree oven, and bake for about 45 minutes or until top is golden and apples are soft and fully cooked!. Serve warm with ice cream!.

You can make more of the oat mixture if you prefer a thicker topping!. And there are endless fruit combinations possible, like pears, cranberries, strawberries, raspberries, peaches!.!.!.
