Hot breakfast cereals like wheatlets, oatmeal, cream of wheat, farina, etc!., are usually eaten with milk or cream and a little sugar (either white or brown sugar)!.
After cooking it, put into a bowl, add sugar and some milk!.
You are right, with just milk, it does not taste all that great so add the sugar!.
I also like to add some raisins or other fruit along with the milk and sugar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's a serving suggestion!. I like to pour a little milk and a spoonful of brown sugar on my hot cereal after it's been cooked and put into a bowl!. To me, the milk adds a creamier taste to the cereal!. Be careful with boiling milk--it scalds quickly and can easily turn into something you don't want to eat!.
If you don't like it that way, though, don't eat it that way!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Basically they were indicating to just pour some milk or cream, with the sugar after it was placed in the bowl!. I like the strawberry jam option myself, I bet it was good!. I never thought of using that as a topping, now I will:-)Www@FoodAQ@Com
Some people boil the milk in there!. Some pour the milk and just have it float on the top and some mix it in (to cool it really and add a little richness)!.
