Will brown sugar in a cookie mix keep it from being shelf stable?!
If I mixup the dry ingredients for batches of cookies or cake mixes that call for brown sugar, will it keep or will the moisture from the brown sugar be absorbed by the other ingredients and ruin it!? Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:

huuummmm
idk i know that brown sugar can be left on the shelf but im not sure
but you could stick it all in a air tight container im sure that would keep it from spoiling
but
if you were really worried about it you could make a batch and then take a little out of it to stick on the shelves then stick the rest in a sealed container in the fridge and see if the small sample ruins compared to the refrigerated batchWww@FoodAQ@Com

It should be just fine!. There are all kinds of people who make "cookie" jar recipes where you can mix all the dry ingredients and put a cute lid on it with instructions and so on!. SO yes it is just fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
