4 eggs - 250 gr flour (with baking powder)- 250 gr butter or margarine on a plant basis (not the one used for baking or the one used to put on your bread it has to the solid one - here in Belgium there is one called Planta) - 250 gr sugar -
vanilla sugar or liquid vanilla!.
Separate the eggs and put the egg yolks, the sugar, the vanilla and the butter together and mix them until you have a very smooth paste, then add the flour and mix until you have a smooth paste again!.
Beat the egg whites until they are very stiff and mix gently into your dough!. and it's done!. bon appétit !
Your cake pan should be filled half!. Put in the oven at about 200 degrees and leave to bake for about 3/4 of an hour!. After 30 minutes check (do not open the oven before) the colour - to see whether the cake is fully baked stick a knitting needle or something similar into it!. If it comes out dry, the cake is OK!.
If you want you can also add some apricots, plums or pieces of apple into your dough, but then you have to put some sugar on the fruit before you add them!.
