Can I cook frozen ground beef without thawing it first?!
I am making burritos and in a hurry!. I hate microwaving ground beef it always ends up rubbery!. I read somewhere you can fry it over low heat and break it up as it thaws!. Has anyone tried this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can, but it will just take too long!!! I am too impatient to let it cook, scrape off the cooked meat, cook again, scrape again and so on and so forth!.!.!.!.
its a lot easier to let it thaw under COLD running water!. The warmer the water you use, will result in the cooking of the meat, so it is always best to use cold water!. It doesnt take that long to thaw it with that method!. As a matter of fact that is the exact way i thawed out the meat for my dinner tonight!. Of course, as always, the best way is to think ahead and stick it in the fridge the night before you plan to use it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

YES!. I do this all the time!. Place your ground beef in a skillet with a lid over medium high heat!. Put the lid on, let sit for about 3 minutes, turn and scrape off what has thawed/browned!. Replace lid!. Keep doing this until all the ground beef is thawed/browned, then drain!. It's a little time consuming, could take up to 15 - 20 minutes, but better than microwaving to defrost, then browning!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You shouldn't cook frozen meat unless it's one of those prepackaged things that says it should be cooked from frozen!. also you really shouldn't be defrosting raw meet in the microwave, you need to start taking the meat out ahead of time and letting it defrost on its own, to help it thaw faster you can run it under cold water!.

No, this will not yield satisfactory results!. You will get meat that is over cooked along with meat that is cooked just right!. The quickest way to thaw meat is to use warm water!. Use warm water, not hot, immerse meat in seal plastic and every five minutes pull out the meat and scraped off the thawed part and rewarm the water and repeat!. Going to take more than half an hour!. I always do this!.!.!.I never seem to remember to take the pkg of ground beef out of the freezer!. So what I do is cook it on low, and scrape it off the frozen chunk as it cooks/thaws!. When it's all done then throw it all in the pan and fry it up with your seasonings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
you can do that but let you know you have to watch it caefully so it won't burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
YES!. Just toss it in a skillet and brown!. Flip frozen meat over, scrape off cooked side of meat!. Just keep flipping and scraping!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Absolutely!. I have done this more times than I can count!. You may have more liquid to drain when you are done but it is really no big deal!Www@FoodAQ@Com
