Is cheddar potato broccoli soup healthy?!

Question: Is cheddar potato broccoli soup healthy!?
I made some today and it was really good! I'm slowly converting to a lifestyle of fast food, ice cream, cookies, candy and chips to a veggie, meat, and fruit way of life!.

I've cut out the soda and fruit juice, and now I drink decaffeinated herbal teas and water!.

So is this soup healthy!?
Thanks for your input!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It all depends how it is made - restaurant ones are usually quite high in fat!. However, if you make it and make simple changes like using a lower fat cheese, skim milk and add extra brocoli, it can be a good source of calcium and fibre!! When making things yourself, simple changes are all that's needed!. Omit oil or fats when possible, use whole wheat pastas and flours, skip the buttery sauces for freash seasonings (dill, parsley, etc!.) and always take a hearty helping of veggies!. Best wishes!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, its not!. Not at restaurants anyway, and probably not homemade either!. It doesnt contain a large significant amount of calories in some cases, but it usually has a high amount of fat because of the cheese!. but there is this great recipe for broccoli cheddar soup on this amazing website

it looks really good and light/healthy!.
I havent tried it yet, but i plan too!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's ok if you don't use all the fats that can go into it!.!.!. instead of butter, cream and full fat cheese you make smart choices instead- a little oil, 2% milk, low fat cheese, then you're not loading up on calories!. :)

If it was creamy soup, then it is probably unhealthy and very fatty!.

But, you can eat it as a treat to reward yourself on friday nights or saturday ^^Www@FoodAQ@Com
