Question about avocados.....?!


Question: Question about avocados!.!.!.!.!.!?
I just bought an avocado for my baby and I opened it and it is brown with black dots, is it rotten!?

I answered this question over at the "Vegetarian" forum!. Just a point, if you want to hasten the ripening of your avocados (most of the ones that you get at the store are bright green and 3-4 days away from eating)!. Put a couple of them in a paper bag with an apple!. This should shorten the ripening time to a day or so!. Some people also recommend a banana instead of an apple, or white flour!. (Apples and bananas give off ethylene gas, which hastens ripening) All three methods are supported by strong anechdotal evidence!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It sound like it is over ripe!. It should be a dark green color inside, very smooth and no spots or dots!.
It will not taste good, very bitter and foul!. Toss it out!. Your baby will never like avocados again if they get a taste of that!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

its overrripe or somebody must have dropped it a lot that caused the bruising!. it might taste bitter and your baby might not like it so just toss it or get a new one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Smell of it!. If it doesn't smell good chunk it!. I cut one open today and my wife told me how to determine as it had the same appearance as you describe!. I ate it and it was good, it smelled normal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
