"Hickory Nuts,what do I do with them?"?!


Question: "Hickory Nuts,what do I do with them!?"!?
I just found out I have two Hickory trees in my yard!.!. Nuts are everywhere!.!. I want to use this free food!.!. So what do I do with them now that I have two huge grocery bags full of them!?
Do I have to bake them or just let them dry!?

If I were you, since you ask, is Google Hickory nuts and discover for yourself!
I would try a few raw, just crack 'em open and eat!. I'd also roast them at about 300oF for a few minutes until you can hear and smell them roasting - not long - and try them that way' alternately, you could shell them and THEN roast in a pan until they start to get a little brown, add a little virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, maybe a little cumin, granulated onion/garlic or even cinnamon and sugar!
