Melt-in-Your-Mouth Sugar Cookies
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup butter or margarine -- softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
Creamy Decorator's Frosting, Decorator's
Glaze or Royal Icing (below)
CREAMY DECORATOR'S FROSTING
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon water
OR
1 tablespoon milk -- (1 to 2)
Few drops of food color -- if desired
DECORATOR'S GLAZE
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
ROYAL ICING
1 (16-ounce) package powdered sugar (4 1/2 cups)
1/3 cup warm water (105o to 115o)
3 tablespoons meringue powder
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
Food colors -- if desired
Beat powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract and egg in large bowl
with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon!. Stir in flour,
baking soda and cream of tartar!. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours!.
Heat oven to 375o!. Lightly grease cookie sheet!. Divide dough in half!. Roll
each half 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured surface!. Cut into desired shapes
with 2 1/2-inch cookie cutters!. Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet!.
Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until edges are light brown!. Remove from cookie sheet
to wire rack; cool completely!. Frost with Creamy Decorator's Frosting;
decorate as desired (see Holiday Hints in Notes)!.

Sugar cookies are the most well known cut-out cookies, where you roll out portions of the dough and then use the cookie cutters!. Or you might find a recipe for Pinwheel cookies where you roll out half the dough in one color and then add food coloring to the other half and roll it out!. Place the 2nd one on top of the first and then roll up together like a jelly roll!. Then slice and bake!Www@FoodAQ@Com
go to a grocery store, and but a big roll of like pilsbury raw cookie dough, then you cut into slices of how much cookie you want, and bake, usually at 350 degrees farenheit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
