Question: Recipes for Goat meat!?
My neighbor is raising goats for meat production which is unusual for here in Montana!. Does any one have any interesting recipes for goat meat out there!. I have not really dealt with this type of meat!. Is it similar to antelope!? We call them speed goats out here!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Goat meat is "wild" flavored, resembling venison in taste!. You can make goat stew, goat steaks, and goat burgers!. User pretty much the same recipees as you would for deer, antelope, moose, elk etc!.
If serving goat meat to a guest who isnt used to the taste, you can camouflage it in a recipeee or mix it with some beef chili!. Its best fried or in burger or sausage so its sliced or ground up!. They are easy to butcher if you have ever done a deer!. The meat is called chevon!. Cabrito meat means young goat!. CURRY GOAT MEAT

3-5 lbs!. goat meat
3 tbsp!. curry powder
1 tsp!. black pepper
1 lg!. onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
Salt to taste or seasoned salt

Clean and wash goat meat!. Add curry powder, black pepper, seasoned salt, chopped onion, chopped garlic!. Rub seasonings well into goat meat!. On a cooking pan place about 1 tablespoon butter or oil, whichever you prefer!. Pour meat into pan with oil while it is still cold!. Stir and cook until tender!.

CHILI

24 oz!. Pace picante sauce
16 oz!. tomato paste
16 oz!. tomato sauce
6 oz!. ketchup
24 oz!. beer or water
2 lg!. onions
2 lg!. bell peppers
Tabasco sauce
Chili powder
Minced onion
Garlic powder
8 oz!. pickled Jalapeno peppers
32 oz!. pinto beans
Salt
Pepper
5 lbs!. goat meat, cut into bite size pieces

Pour beer, picante sauce, tomato paste, tomato sauce, ketchup, strained pinto beans, chopped bell peppers, strained Jalapeno peppers, 2 tablespoons chili powder into at least a 10-quart pot!. Take a skillet with spot of grease put in meat!. Sprinkle meat with chili powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, minced onion; seer in skillet until light brown!. Pour into pot!. Take chopped onion, put in skillet!. Sprinkle with Tabasco sauce, let onions get soft!. Pour into pot!. When all ingredients are together boil for 30 minutes, then let simmer for 2 to 3 hours!.

Goat meat is used throughout India and Pakistan!. It is the best meat there is whether it is cooked in a curry, barbecued, or fried!. It is tender and succulent!. The only specifically 'goat' recipe I can think of is Caribbean Curry Goat (there'll be plenty of recipes in the web, I'm sure), otherwise goat is similar enough to mutton or lamb that you can substitute it in any lamb or mutton recipes you might like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Goat meat is fabulous for curries!. They can also be cooked the same way as lamb is prepared - ie: roast goat!.!.!.!. The lttle loin chops are yummy when theyre marinated and on a bbq!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Our neighbor in NM used to roast them whole in an open pit with mesquite!. I have successfully duplicated it with cut up goat in my smoker!. You can add your favorite BBQ sauce if you like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
