What are some ways to sneak vegetables in my cooking?!

Question: What are some ways to sneak vegetables in my cooking!?
My husband is not much into vegetables at all!. He'll eat spaghetti sauce, baby carrots and occasionally puts iceberg on his sandwiches, but other than that, won't eat much anything else at all!. I'm worried about his health cause his diet consists of meat, bread, and cheese!. what are some ways I can make it so that he either doesn't know it's there or won't be able to pick it out!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Be really sneaky, and put jars of baby food in, they're really nutritious (for obvious reasons) but never very tasty, so disguise that with sauces and spices and he'll never know the difference!.

I make a mean salad that doesn't taste like rabbit food!.!.!.
Lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, carrot, onion, cucumber, capsicum, sweet peas, mayonnaise, diced cheese, pine nuts and smoked salmon/croutons if desired!.

It doesn't taste like veges at all!. :D

You can add pureed or finely grated pumpkin or carrot to ground beef for hamburgers, spaghetti bolognese/lasagna, meat loaf etc!.

You can make nice dips with ricotta and add finely diced onion, capsicum, tomato or mashed avocado etc

also, what about soups!? Like bacon bone or chicken soup!? If you grate or finely chop the veges and cook it long enough, they all melt away and you can't tell that they are there :D

Even pizzas are good!.!.!.you can hide a lot of veges on a pizza!

When making spaghetti sauce, puree cooked carrots and zucchini to add to the sauce!. Make banana nut bread and add zucchini to it!. Mash cooked cauliflower into mashed potatoes!. Make stew with carrots and potatoes and puree tomatoes and peas to add to the broth!. See if you can find a recipe for meatless meatballs made using ground or diced eggplant on www!.allrecipes!.com!. Make it a little harder to taste the difference by making them half meat half eggplant!. Try mixing peanuts and dried edamame (soybeans) together in a snack mix!.also , ask him if he'll try a different vegetable each week with you and keep an open mind about it!. Make note of ones he likes, and stick to those!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

zomg!.!.!.what's wrong with his diet!? That's the diet of a REAL MAN lol!

Anyway!.!.!.Get a blender, juicer, food processor, whatever!. And put the vegetables in that!. Then, like with spaghetti sauce, it can be packed full of vegetables and he would never know!. Or any sauce really!.

Try getting him to eat more soups!.!.!.maybe have some soup with BLTs for dinner - you get whatever vegetables are in the soup along with the tomato, lettuce, and wheat in the sandwich and he'll still eat it because there is bacon on it!.

You could also start cooking vegetarian meals like vegetarian lasagna (yummm), or a vegetable stir fry!.

Tell him that if he wants to eat, he'll need to start eating vegetables!. Treat him like a toddler if you must!. Take away the video games, take away!.!.!.!.the you know what!.!.!.among any other things he likes!.

It might simply be the way you're cooking the vegetables!. For instance!.!.!.if you make corn on the cob - don't boil it!. Put them in the oven and roast them (it takes the same amount of time and you get excellent flavor!)!. Instead of getting canned green beans, get some fresh from the market - cook them with ham or bacon!.

Then there is the world of desert!. You can puree vegetables and put them in cakes (chocolate) and you can't even really tell they are there!. Then you can have carrot cake, zucchini breads, pumpkin bread, etc!. etc!. etc!.

The possibilities are endless!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I was also like your husband!. My girlfriend started adding veggies in to the spaghetti sauce!. Another way of getting veggies in is making a soup with veggies!. You then puree it in the blender!. You can keep the pieces of chicken and beef solid for him to see!. Since your husband does not eat veggies you should encourage him to drink a lot of water(with lemon is also good)!. Green Tea with lemon can also help him!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try frying your vegetables, it sounds like a healthy heart attack but if you fry them in just a litttle bit of Canola Oil with Egg Beaters and a decent bread crumb they taste REALLY good and everything!. My grandma makes fried cauliflower and it smells so good!. Then when there like holy crap im eating vegetables sneak them in to other things!. You can try also stuffing tomatos or peppers!. Its vegetables and meet, its its own meal and really healthy!. Corn on the cob!. There are so many things that taste like there bad for you that are vegetables!. Its how my grandma got me and my sisters to eat them when we were younger!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

try grating your veggies into your pasta sauces, soups, casseroles, even breads!. They become practically invisible add tons of flavor!. This worked on my daughter who was very picky!. Just don't try the strongly flavored veggies at first like cabbage, celery, things like that, use squash, zucchini, carrots, potatoes!. You can also puree them in a blender or food processor before adding to your dishes!. He sure can't pick them out then!. You might want to kick up the spices he likes at first to help hide your kind deception, then back off them a little at a time once he admits how great your food is!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can roast eggplant or zucchini in the oven at 450F for 20 minutes!. Cool it, peal it, and mash it with a potato masher!. That can be put into spaghetti sauce!. It's really good and he probably won't be able to tell it's in there

You can make pumpkin pie with acorn squash!. I don't know if that's better for you than pumpkin!.

Or how about spaghetti squash instead of pasta!.

You could use more vegetables as sauces!. Maybe doing a pea sauce with a piece of grilled fish!. My favorite cover-up veggie is sweet potato!. I cut them into 1 inch slices, toss them with a little melted butter, crushed red pepper, brown sugar, and salt, and bake them!. They are like fries, but a lot better for you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well there's always v-8 juice ,ragu chunky garden-style ,italian garden combination,is loaded w/ all kinds of good stuff!.will he eat tacos,if so its easy enough to get his veggies there!.

Pour a V-8 in the spaghetti sauce, or like other said puree the veggies and pour them in!. Or you can serve him Bloody Mary's with V-8, but then he ends up drunk, so maybe not a good idea, or maybe that's a good idea, depends on how you look at it!.

I grate carrots, squash, zucchini, onions, mushrooms and add them in!.!. no one really notices!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My soon to be hubby is the same way!. I just chop them up really really small so that he doesn't know what he's eating!.
I also buy V8 splash!.

Puree carrots and parsnips and mix into mashed pots!. Any veggies in a tomato sauce, cut up tiny so they are not obviously veg!. Soups, again puree them - yiekks it's like baby food really!, but this should work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Carve all your veges into little animal shapes, and tell him it's a french delicacy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Knock him over the head with a really really big butternut squash, and stick them in his mouth while he's out!. If that doesn't work, try the other end!.
