Quiche - what kind /: ?!
I'm making quiche at school!.!. what should I put in it!?
Mushrooms, cheese, etc!? Give me some ideas please!. [:

Answers:
I like to use smoked ham, swiss or gruyere cheese, and asparagus!.
Another good combination might be some crisp bacon (chopped), havarti cheese, and some chopped sweet onion (like a Vidalia or Maui)!.
Another one I like is smoked salmon, shredded Jack cheese, and a few capers (maybe 2-3 Tablespoons, just to add some "crunch" and flavor)!.
Really, you can use almost anything!. For sure, you'll want cheese (that's what makes a quiche a quiche), but beyond that, just about anything goes!.
How about some thinly sliced roast beef, cut into thin strips, cheddar cheese, and a some mushrooms!?
Italian sausage, provolone cheese, and chopped tomatoes!?

COPPER MOUNTAIN QUICHE
1/2 cup Butter
4 oz!. Cream Cheese
1 cup + 2 Tbs!. All-purpose Flour (divided)
10-oz package frozen Chopped Spinach
1 cup Cheddar Cheese, grated
1 cup Swiss Cheese, grated
3 whole Eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 jar Bacon Bits OR 10 slices Bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
8 oz!. fresh Mushrooms, sliced
1 bunch Green Onions or Scallions, trimmed and sliced
Combine the butter, cream cheese, and 1 cup of the flour in a small bowl!. Mix with a pastry blender or fork, cutting the butter and cream cheese into the flour until a consistently crumbly mixture is formed!.
Place the flour mixture in a 10" pie plate or quiche pan, and press evenly to form a crust!. Refrigerate!. Pre-heat the oven to 350°F!.
Cook the spinach in a pot of lightly salted boiling water, drain well, and chop!. Drain the spinach again on paper towels to remove all excess moisture!.
In a large bowl, combine the spinach with the two tablespoons flour!. Add the cheddar and Swiss cheeses, eggs, mayonnaise, milk, bacon bits or crumbled bacon, mushrooms, and green onions!.
Pour the mixture into the chilled pastry shell and bake for 1 hour, or until set!. Serve warm!.
TOMATO QUICHE
3 large tomatoes, chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 Tb!. butter
1 tsp!. salt
1/4 tsp!. thyme
1 8" prepared pie shell
1/2 lb!. Swiss cheese, diced
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c!. half & half
Combine tomatoes, onion, butter, salt & thyme in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until mixture is reduced by half!. Place cheese on bottom of prepared pie shell!. Pour tomato mixture over the cheese!. Mix eggs & cream and pour over tomatoes!. Bake for 10 min at 425; reduce temp to 375 and bake another 35 min (or until set)!. ? lb back bacon rashers
Small onion finely chopped
2 oz butter
2 oz gruyere cheese
? pint single cream
4 egg yolks
Seasoning
Method:
Line 8” flan ring or loose based tin with the short crust pastry
Remove rind from bacon and remove most of fat
Cut the bacon into strips and fry gently to remove fat and cook till tender
Remove bacon from pan
Add onion with a little butter and sauté until soft
Drain off excess liquid!.
Put bacon, onion and finely sliced cheese into flan case
Beat egg yolks and cream together and season
Pour into flan case and bake in centre of over for 15 mins at 200oC for 15mins
Reduce head to 170oC and cook for a further 20 mins
Serving suggestion, serve hot or cold with salad and baked potatoesWww@FoodAQ@Com

don't use too many flavours Bacon onion parsley and very tasty cheese!. or try salmon bacon eggs paprika !.
