Why is baking less fattening than frying?!

Question: Why is baking less fattening than frying!?
Answers:
Hey!. It appears that some people who are answering your question don't understand that not EVERYONE has experience in cooking!. Excuse them please!. We all just want to help!.

Baking is a form of cooking that uses "dry heat" to cook!. THe food put in an oven is cooked from the outside to the inside without anything but hot air to cause the heating of the food!.

Frying uses HOT oil to cook from the outside to the inside but because the oil makes greater contact with the food than the hot air does the oil cooks it faster!. Usually the kinds of foods that are fried include breaded, floured or otherwise COATED foods!. These foods collect that hot oil and make direct contact with the meat or vegetable that is being cooked!. The "breading" also absorbs some of the oil!. Then you eat the breading and the cooked food!. Oil has calories while "air" does not have any calories!.

Baking, broiling or grilling which use only hot air or a flame does NOT add calories to your food while hot OIL cooking certainly does!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baking without any oil is of course less fattening because your not using any "oil", the keyword here, but this is sort of a "myth"!. If you have your oil at the proper tempature, which is 350 degrees, the food won't absorb much oil at all!. also, when frying, use a lighter oil like canola!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

To fry foods you need oils!. Most oils used for frying contain either trans or saturated fat!. Which are the worst fats for you!. These foods get drenched in these fats!. If you are watching your weight and fat intake!.!.!.try watching the nutrition labels!. Trans fat is the worst fat for you!. Even though it says on the label there is no trans fat, there still might be!. If it is less than 1g per serving, factories do not have to list it!. If it has the word "hydrogenated" in the ingredients there is trans fat!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baking can be just as fattening depending on what "fat" you are using to bake!. Sometimes all the butter that goes into baking is just as bad, if not worse than, frying!.
You really cannot generalize!. Frying typically uses more oil, because well, its frying!.
It really depends what you are making!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When you fry, the food being fried sucks up more fat from the oil you are frying in!. That is why when you fry a large amount of something in batches, you find yourself adding more oil!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Baking doesn't have as much fat unless you saturate whatever you are baking with oil!.
When frying, the food absorbs the oil that you are frying it in!.

It's less fattening because you're not adding extra oil, by submerging the food in hot oil!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Uh you add fat when you lower or submerge something in hot oil!. How is it not obvious!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

because frying is just adding a bunch of fat to your foodWww@FoodAQ@Com

Because there is no oil/grease/lard/fatWww@FoodAQ@Com

i think baking burns the fatWww@FoodAQ@Com
