Answers:
Glad you didn't eat them!. I've no idea why they smelled funky!. I'd've put them into a container or zip bag and stuck 'em in the fridge -- and returned them to the store you got them from today!. Ew!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is a certain store in the town where I live that refuse to patronize!. A few years ago I noticed that all of their beef smelled like bleach!. They would have wonderful sales in their meat department, but the meats all smelled like bleach!.

Not sure about your chicken, but the place where you bought it may treat their meats and poultry with a "preservative"!. Yuck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I had that happen with crab legs!. The freezers that grocery stores have use ammonia to make things cold!. They have an ammonia leak and it gets on the food and makes it taste and smell funny!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Thats kind of strange because usually chicken or beef would smell like fish!. It could be that the store or the people packaging it is dipping the raw chicken in chemicals!. I would definatly recommend not buy meat there again and washing all meats before eating themWww@FoodAQ@Com

They smell that way because the store uses those chemicals to preserve their color!. And i would complain at least!. That could've made you & your family sick!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

cause i dipped them in chemicals
while i was cooking up something
in my methlabWww@FoodAQ@Com

It's the smell of death!. Eat tofu instead :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
