Question: When baking brownies!?
Can you use butter even if the recipe calls for cooking oil
Im using brownie Mix

Melt the butter and it should be fine!.

By the way brownies are not pastry :P Instead you would say "I'm no baker"!.

Actually VeggieTart, butter is very similar to oil, it's just not as good for you!. They're both just fats!. Different types of fats, granted, but just fats!. Both are used to increase the fat content of the resulting food!. If you melt the butter the only discernible difference is butter has a buttery flavour, which goes well in brownies!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't!. Butter has a completely different composition than oil!. It's best to use canola oil in baking because it's relatively mild and tends not to impart a strong flavor to food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Butter will work instead of oil, and it will make them taste 100% better!.
