Question: Fun ideas for weekend food!?
Every weekend I bake for my husband and 3 boys!. I always make something sweet but also little snacks, appetizers!.!.!.etc!. Im running out of ideas!. I love kraftfoods!.com but Ive used almost every recipe lol I want to make lunches and dinners this weekend too instead of eating out!. On Saturday nights, we eat on the couch and watch movies!. Any ideas!? Thanks so much - Oh, my boys are 10 and 12 and pretty much like everything!. My youngest is 1 and if he cant eat what we do, I just give him a little gerber toddler mealWww@FoodAQ@Com

We like a bag od frozen meatballs in the crockpot with a jar of bbq sauce and some crushed red pepper and honey poured over!.!.!.!.cook low all day!.!.!.serve with toothpicks!. also, wrap little smokies in 1/2 slice of bacon!.!.!.!.!.put on a cookie sheet covered with foil!. Sprinkle smokies with brown sugar and bake at 325 for 30 minutes or until cooked and crunchy!. These are horrible for you, but the most delicious thing ever!. I also like to bake!.!.!.!.we have a bread maker and one of my faves is a cheddar herb loaf!.!.!.!.very god and savory this time of year!. You could also make homemade applesauce (since aplles are cheap and in season) in the crockpot!.!.!.serve warm with vanilla ice cream or eat it once you've cooled it in the fridge!. I also experiment with butters because I love muffins this time of year!.!.!.!.do a pumpkin butter for spreading on your favorite rolls and breads!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Get everything to make pizza, but have everyone make their own on english muffins instead of crust!. It's a fun thing you can all do together!.

Put chicken wings in a baking dish, pour a bottle of soy sauce over, then fill the bottle with water and pour THAT over!. Bake at 400 for 40 minutes!. Simple & delicious!.

Have you made pigs-in-a-blanket yet!? Wrap hot dogs in crescent rolls from a tube, bake as directed!. They're fun with little smokies, too- just cut the rolls smaller before rolling!. Kids have fun with this, too

Heat little smokies in a sauce of half grape jelly and half bottled chili sauce!. Another simple but yummy treat!.

And last, heat equal amounts of velveeta with canned beanless chili for a great nacho dip!.

A Surprise Inside French Toast
6 slices French bread, 2" slices
? cup cottage cheese
2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
? cup evaporated milk
In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese and cream cheese, blend until well incorporated and creamy!. Add sugar and vanilla -- beat until smooth!.

Carefully cut a pocket on the side of each slice of French bread!. Evenly cheese mixture between each slice of bread, spoon and spread inside the pockets!.

Beat eggs with milk!. Dip each piece of bread into egg mixture, coating both sides well!.

Heat a non stick pan over medium high heat!. Spray with non stick spray!. Cook the toast on each side for about 3 - 4 minutes until golden brown!.

Cheese Crisps
? cup butter, softened
? pound Cheddar cheese, grated
? teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
1 ? cups all purpose white flour
30 pecan halves
Blend butter, cheese, salt and cayenne pepper together!. Stir in flour and mix well!. Shape into 3 rolls about 1 1/2" in diameter!. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate one hour or until firm!.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees!. Line baking sheet with wax paper!. Cut each roll into 10 equal portions!. Place on wax paper, press pecan half into top of each crisp!.

Bake for 12 minutes or until set!. Remove to cooling rack!. Let cool completely before storing in airtight container!.

Crispy Potato Skins
You can use any number of herbs and spices to season potato skins!. Try fresh basil, dill, garlic, cayenne pepper, tarragon or thyme!.
4 russet potatoes, scrubbed clean and trimmed
butter flavored cooking spray
2 tablespoons chopped chives
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees!. Pierce potatoes, place in oven and bake until skins are crisp, about one hour!. Remove from oven and let cool about 10 minutes!.

Carefully cut the potatoes in half and scoop out pulp leaving about 1/8" attached to skin!. Save pulp for later use!. Spray inside of skins with butter flavored spray and season with salt, pepper and chives!.

Place halves on baking sheet and return to oven for 5 - 10 minutes!.

Fruit Nut Muffins
1 cup chopped dates
? cup raisins
? cup chopped prunes
1 cup water
? cup butter, cubed
? teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all purpose white flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
? teaspoon baking powder
? cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees!. Line muffin pan with paper cups, spray with non stick spray!.

In saucepan over medium high heat, combine dates, raisins, prunes and water!. Boil for 5 minutes, then stir in butter and salt!. Remove from heat and let cool!.

When fruit mixture is cool, transfer to large mixing bowl!. Beat in eggs and vanilla!. In small mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and baking powder, then blend into fruit mixture!. Fold in nuts!. Spoon into muffin cups, distribute evenly!.

Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean!. Let cool 5 minutes before serving!.

COCKTAIL MEATBALLS

1 lb!. ground beef
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c!. cracker crumbs
2 tbsp!. instant minced onion
2 tbsp!. sweet pepper flakes
9 drops Tobasco
1/4 tsp!. garlic salt

SAUCE:

3/4 c!. catsup
1/2 c!. water
1/4 c!. vinegar
1/3 c!. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp!. instant minced onion
1 tsp!. mustard
1 1/2 tsp!. salt
4 tsp!. Worcestershire
6 drops Tobasco

Mix all ingredients except sauce!. Shape into 1 inch balls!. Place single layer of meatballs in ungreased 15 x 10 jelly roll pan or 13 x 9 inch pan!. Bake at 325 degrees F!. for 30 minutes!. Place meatballs in casserole!. Combine sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs!. Bake 1 hour longer!.
2 to 2 1/2 dozen meatballs!.





CHICKEN PUFFS
serves 8
6 oz cream cheese, softened
5 tbsp butteror margerine,melted and divided
2 cups diced cooked chicken
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp minced onions
2 tbsp diced pimentos
2 cans of cresent rolls

Preheat oven to 350
Mix together cream cheese and 3 tbsp melted butter
Add chicken, milk,pepper, onions and pimentos
Separate each cresent roll into 4 rectangles
Divide chicken filling and spoon in the center of each rectangle
Bring ends together and pinch shut
Brush with melted butter
Place on greased cookie sheet
Bake 12 min







OREO PIZZA

30 OREO, divided
1 pkg fudgy brownie mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
1/3 cup m& m

Pre heat oven to 350
Put 22 cookies in bag and crush
Cut remaining cookies in to small pieces
Prepare brownie mix using oil, water, and eggs
Stir in crushed cookies

Pour into sprayed pizza pan
Bake 18- 20 min
Sprinkle top with marshmallows
Return to oven 1- 2 min
Remove pan from oven
Sprinkle cookie pieces and M&M over top

I like to melt a small amount of chcoclate and or vanilla frosting in the microwave!.
Take a fork and drizzle the frostings over the top the of the pizza







FUNNEL CAKES
Yield: 10 Servings

3 ea Eggs
1 ts Vanilla
2 c Milk
1 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
3 c Flour
1/4 c Sugar

Mix together the eggs, milk, and vanilla!. Sift together the flour,
salt sugar and baking powder!. Add dry ingredients to milk mixture!.
Stir to mix well!. Heat oil to 370 degrees (be sure it is hot or the
cakes will absorb to much oil)!. Pour batter from a small pitcher,
making loops and crossing over batter!. Fry up to minutes - turn and
brown well!. Drain on paper toweling!. Sprinkle with powdered sugar!.
