Question: Can I use liquid butter instead of stick butter!?
My recipe calls for 1 cup butter, softened!. I usually use 2 sticks of butter but i only have one stick!. Can i use 1 cup of liquid butter!? Does it matter!? I just don't want to mess up my food!. Thanks!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Use half butter, half shortening or just make half the recipe for best results!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't understand why you want to use liquid butter!? The butter is going to be 1 cup no matter if you melt it or not!.

Yes it will screw up your recipe!. If it asks for the butter softened, the texture of the soft butter is doing something integral, for example it might be creamed with the sugar!.!.!.!. if the recipe asks for softened butter you must let it soften, and melting it won't do you any good or extend your butter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends on what you are making and what you are doing with the butter!. If you are rubbing the fat in then the melted butter would mess up the texture!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

depends on the recipe!. Most recipes still need the butter solid or softened as it helps bind the ingredients!.

If it's a pastry or cake, definately not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its better you dont put the butter!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
