Well I am a former chef and happen to have worked in Japan, it is a high quality high grade, premium rice from Japan, wash it like sushi rice and use a 1 to 1 1/2 ratio rice to water, a rice cooker is much more preferred but the stove top method is fine to, you just have to watch it and make sure when you see the "craters" the water is almost 80% absorbs and the rice is 90% cooked to turn off the heat, place a towel or paper towel on the pot, replace the lid and set it to settle and finish its absorption and when done fluff with a fork!.
The rice cooker is a lot more forgiving, but any way it is cooked just don't stir it after the rice has re boiled in the water after adding if you use the stove top method, this moves it and the rice will not cooked evenly, in Japan this rice is prized for its quality and fragrance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
