Take an entire head of fresh garlic and put in a pan!. Cut across the top about 1/8 inch exposing the tops of the cloves!. Drizzle liberally with olive oil and place in hot oven to roast until soft and mushy!.
Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly!. grab the head, flip over and squeeze!. The roasted garlic will squeeze out!. Mix this with one stick of softened butter and 3 tablespoons of olive oil!.
Take a loaf of day old french or italian bread and slice lengthwise!. "Paint" with the roasted garlic/butter mixture and place under broiler until crispy!.

Garlic Bread Recipe
)
Ingredients
1 16-ounce loaf of Italian bread or French bread
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
2 large cloves of garlic, smashed and minced
1 heaping tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Method
Method 1 - Toasted
1 Preheat oven to 350°F
2 Cut the bread in half, horizontally!. Mix the butter, garlic, and parsley together in a small bowl!. Spread butter mixture over the the two bread halves!. Place on a sturdy baking pan (one that can handle high temperatures, not a cookie sheet) and heat in the oven for 10 minutes!.
3 Remove pan from oven!. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over bread if you want!. Return to oven on the highest rack!. Broil on high heat for 2-3 minutes until the edges of the bread begin to toast and the cheese (if you are using cheese) bubbles!. Watch very carefully while broiling!. The bread can easily go from un-toasted to burnt!.
4 Remove from oven, let cool a minute!. Remove from pan and make 1-inch thick slices!. Serve immediately!.
Method 2 - Soft
Preheat oven to 350°F!. Make the butter, garlic, parsley mixture as above!. Make 1-inch thick slices into the bread, but do not go all the way through, just to the bottom crust!. Put a teaspoon or two of the butter mixture between each slice!. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and heat for 15 minutes in the oven!.

Stay away from garlic powder or garlic salt unless you're just plain desperate!.
Slice French or Italian bread crosswise into thick slabs and broil until light golden - turn and broil other side as well!. Let cool a few minutes!. Combine melted butter and 1 minced clove of garlic in a small bowl and brush it over the toasted slabs of bread!. Sprinkle with grated mozzarella cheese and dried parsley and bake at 350F for 10 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

By chance I found that the usual bread(eg, all those mentioned above ) are not the best choice !.
Ciabatta or turkish bread is the best, cut think slices at an angle(they look better), brush one side with a good olive oil(extra virgin, cold pressed if you have it) mixed with some fresh crushed garlic, then cook on a hot BBQ or griddle pan or frypan dry side first and then the olive oil side, then when done, sprinkle with flaked salt on olive oil side
S-E-N-S-A-T-I-O-N-A-L and better for you !!Www@FoodAQ@Com
