How do you get your children to eat veggies?!

Question: How do you get your children to eat veggies!?
Answers:
My mom makes chicken loaf (it's like meat loaf but ground chicken instead) and when she's grinding up the meat in a food processor she throws in carrots and zucchinis and corn!. I don't mind eating veggies to begin with, but i would imagine this would fool any kids that don't!. It makes the loaf colorful too, which is pretty!.

she also has this recipe book called "Deceptively Delicious" by Jessica Seinfeld which has tons of recipes--some even for cookies and cakes--that incorporate veggies!. And they're GOOD! She had a batch of lemon-raspberry muffins for me when i got home from school once, and I would have never guessed they included yellow squash and beets until she told me!.

and if you're making them just steamed, stop!. it's boring and flavorless!. Try roasting them so they get caramelized!.!.!.especially with yams, if you cut them semi-thin and roast them they end up like sweet potato chips!.!.!.yum!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use reverse psychology!. Let them help in the kitchen and show them how to wash the veggies and let them put them in the pot and help cook!. You'd be amazed, they are going to want to eat everything they prepared!.

Another way is to only put a little (maybe a spoonful) on their plates, but a lot on your plates!. Eat the veggies yourself as though they were the best thing you have ever tasted!. Don't even tell them they have to eat theirs!. Just eat yours and say hmmm this is so good!. The take another helping!. Ignore them and don't mention that they need to eat theirs!. Sooner rather than later they will try them and probably like them too!.

For starters, make sure you eat vegetables yourself, they will notice and be more likely to try a bite themselves!. If you want your kids to actually like vegetables, do not force them to eat the whole serving, just ask them to try one bite!. If they do not like it do not force them to eat anymore but serve the veggie again on a different day to get them used to seeing the vegetable and each time get them to try just one bite!. After a while of doing this they will start to eat more than just one bite because they will learn to like it!. If they refuse to take just one bite, tell them no dessert!. Most likely you will find one or two veggies that the child actually likes this way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ever since my little ones could stand on a stool next to me in the kitchen I had them help me prepare the meal!. Sometimes all they did was put the frozen veggies in a bowl or pan for steaming, other times they helped with the salad spinner!. My 4yr old does a pretty good job of peeling a carrot or potato! I always thank them for "cooking" such a delicious meal!. Some times they like vinegar or ranch dressing as dips for hot or cold vegetables, but I find if they help and are included in some way in the making of the meal they eat more of it!. I also have always told them what the different vitamins did for them!. They love telling me how strong they are getting and how healthy they are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

dun put the food in the middle to share, share them out before the meal starts, so everyone eats wat they have in front of them!. If they don't finish it, dun let them leave the table or just say if you dun eat the veges, they won't be allowed to eat the other stuff they like!. Don't disguise the veges or say ur allowed to play later, because u will end up having problems in the future or too many things are done with an award!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are the parent and you are suppose to be in control!. Make them!.

Try putting sugar in things like corn or carrots - they taste way better with a little sugar in them!. Hide veggies in things like spaghetti, tacos, meat loaf by cutting up the veggies really small!. Find veggies they like - like baby carrots and fat free ranch dip!.

Fruit is good for kids too!. Feed them fruit if they won't eat enough veggies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can disguise them within other dishes, like cheesy casseroles but make them very very small so it's not obvious!. You can also make fun shapes out of them like cucumber boats!. Make sure they aren't bland or boring or over cooked!. Kids are very sensitive to things like that and you can also have them help prepare them!. Kids are more apt to eating vegetables if they cook it themselves (with moms help)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

there is a cook book called "The sneaky chef"
It has all the kid friendly recipes that have veggies hidden in them!. They are delicious and the kids don't even know they are eating veggies! My mom used to put cauliflower in our mashed potatoes!. I have a recipe that has baby food carrots in macaroni and cheese!. You can hide them in all kinds of food creations and your kids won't even know! It works! Good luck! Www@FoodAQ@Com

The major thing is how to get them NOT to eat junk food instead!. They can NOT eat what is not offered to them!. Just don't buy the junk food snacks!. If you only offer healthy snacks, they will only eat healthy snacks!.

My kids love "dip"!. So as long as they can "dip" the veggie in peanut butter, cheese, or low fat ranch dressing they love it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't make any fuss about it!. If no one told them, or made faces or forced them they wouldn't make differences between any foods!. If you keep telling them chicken is ugh then they will learn not to eat that!. So I believe kids don't eat vege cos their peers, parents etc all make a big deal about eating vege!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

puree your veggies, like babyfood jars

add a little to your regular food and the kids will never know!.

if you dont want to puree your veggies because its to much work just use a little from the baby food jars and mix it in!. not to much or they will be able to taste it

Try sneaking it into their food!. For example, make something like pot roast and put in celery and carrots or maybe spaghetti with onions and green peppers!.

You could also buy those fruit juices (I think they're called Harvest Surprise or something like that) with veggies mixed in!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If a kid is normally healthy they should eat what is put in front of them so long as it is made tasty, and looks it!. I have seen people aghast at the thought of cabbage, that is because they don't know how to prepare it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make it fun for them!. Make their meal in to a happy smiling face or the likes!. Cut them in to fun shapes!. Below is a link to a site which I hope will help you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My mom always made the food look like airplanes and stuff like that!.
Plus kids LOVE when you get them a little treat after eating the veggies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
