I would suggest going to www!.bettycrocker!.com and in the top right corner you can order cookbooks, magazines, and also you can sign up for mailing lists etc!. My first cook book was a Betty Crocker one and it is very simple to read, and understand!. These books are made for beginners and have many types of recipes in each book!. You might want to pick up a cheap pot and pan set so you are ready to go!. I would suggest getting a knife block as well!. They have them at all retail stores and you can get the ones that have measuring spoons and cups!. Good Luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

search for 'simple recipes' or something like that (don't forget to use www!.goodsearch!.com !) i am a horrible cook, and i did that for my parents' anniversary and their suprise dinner was a complete success; they thought i had bought it XD
you can also get those yummy noodle bowls from safeway they are pretty cheapWww@FoodAQ@Com

The Betty Crocker Cookbook or the Fannie Farmer Cookbook are the most traditional!. My mother bought one called How to Boil Water which is from the food network tv show, and it had a lot of ideas on what to have available in your kitchen and some easier, basic recipes as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
