I agree with MissM!. If it is jiffy mix it might be a tad sweet but if it is a "southern" style mix it would be perfect!.

Sure- you can use jiffy mix or any cornbread mix as a coating for okra - it will be crustier than with just cornmeal, and really good! Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't use cornbread mix because it tends to be a bit sweet!. That may throw the flavor of the okra off!. My grandmother always just used seasoned flour- no cornmeal!. You could try that!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't see why not!.!.corn meal breading is part flour to!.!.!.I always add a little grits(Dry not cooked) to my cornmeal for extra crunch!. Cornmuffin mix would be sweet but not regular cornbread mix!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
