Best sweetener for a sugar-free apple pie?!
I want to bake an apple pie for someone who is diabetic and can not have sugar!. What artificial sweetener should I use!? I know Splenda is an option, but I have heard of more natural artificial sweeteners, like steevia (I think that's right)!. What do you think!?
also, how would I bake using artificial sweetener!? I assume you would not use the same measurements as regular sugar!. Is baking time the same, or is that also different!?
One more question !. !. !. Is there also an artificial sweetener for brown sugar!?

I don't know too much about the sweetener Stevia!. I do know that it is an herb, but it's 40 times as sweet as sucrose(table sugar)!.
It's much easier to use Splenda!. My mom makes apple pie all the time for my dad who is diabetic!. It measures cup for cup like sugar!. And it also comes in a brown sugar variety!.

Do not use Sweet & Low, or Equal sweetener!. It loses its sweetness after heating, so it's not a good alternative in baking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Unless the friend already uses Stevia, I wouldn't suggest it!. It leaves a definite after taste!. But, it is a good substitute for sugar as it is natural!.
I can't really suggest Splenda or NutraSweet as I am allergic to both!. But I have seen Splenda in brown sugar form at the store!.

Splenda or Splenda for Baking would be good choices!. I lost 50 pounds using Splenda as a sweetener!. Splenda is used cup for cup like sugar!. Splenda for Baking uses half the amount of sugar called for in a recipe, if I remember right!.
