Here are a few that are my favorite recipes that were handed down to me!.
Buttermilk Pecan Pie
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
5 eggs
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 (10 inch) unbaked pastry shell
DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar!. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition!. Blend in flour, lemon juice and vanilla!. Stir in buttermilk and pecans!. Pour into the pie shell!. Bake at 325 degrees F for 55 minutes or until set!. Cool on a wire rack!. Store in the refrigerator!.
Raisin Pie
INGREDIENTS
2 cups raisins
2 cups water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon butter
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
DIRECTIONS
Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan!. Boil 5 minutes!. Blend brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt together; add to hot raisins!. Cook and stir until syrup is clear!. Remove from heat, and stir in vinegar and butter or margarine!. Cool slightly!.
Turn filling into a pastry lined pan!. Cover with top crust!. Seal edges, and cut slits in the top crust!.
Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minutes!.
Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce
INGREDIENTS
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup white sugar
2 1/2 cups whole milk
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
4 fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced
4 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup raisins
6 cups day-old bread cubes
6 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
1 cup whiskey
1 pound butter
2 cups white sugar
DIRECTIONS
Coat a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray!. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!.
In a large bowl, combine eggs, 1 cup sugar, milk, cinnamon and nutmeg and stir until smooth!. Fold in peaches, apples, raisins and bread cubes, until bread is well coated!. Pour into prepared baking dish!. Dot with 6 tablespoons butter!.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, until set!. Serve warm with whiskey sauce!.
To make whiskey sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine whiskey, 1 pound butter and 2 cups sugar!. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves and sauce is smooth!. Remove from heat and serve hot!.
Shepherd's Pie
INGREDIENTS
5 large potatoes - peeled and cubed
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
6 clove garlic, chopped
1 ounce margarine
1 ounce all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 cups beef consomme
2 tablespoons browning and seasoning sauce
8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
DIRECTIONS
Place the potatoes in a pot with enough water to cover!. Bring to a boil and cook until tender!. Drain and mash with desired amounts of milk and butter!. Set aside!.
While the potatoes are cooking, crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium heat!. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until meat is no longer pink!.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C)!. Melt the margarine in a small pan!. Stir in the flour!. Cook and stir over medium heat until dark brown, about 10 minutes!. Let cool off the heat then gradually stir in the consomme, ketchup and browning sauce until smooth!. Set over medium heat and simmer until thick!.
Stir the sauce into the ground beef and transfer to a casserole dish!. Top with mashed potato, then sprinkle the cheese over the potato!.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until potatoes are toasted and cheese is melted!.
Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons prepared Dijon-style mustard
2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary
2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoon lemon zest
6 cloves garlic, minced
5 pounds whole leg of lamb
4 teaspoon coarse sea salt
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, combine the honey, mustard, rosemary, ground black pepper, lemon zest and garlic!. Mix well and apply to the lamb!. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator overnight!.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C)!.
Place lamb on a rack in a roasting pan and sprinkle with salt to taste!.
Bake at 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) for 20 minutes, then reduce heat to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and roast for 55 to 60 more minutes for medium rare!. The internal temperature should be at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C) when taken with a meat thermometer!. Let the roast rest for about 10 minutes before carving!.

Milk
Slice and lighlty saute leeks and diced potatoes in butter(do not brown)
Cover with chicken stock
Brng to boil and simmer until potatoes are cooked
Remove from heat and belnd with a and blender until smooth add milk until it's the preferred consistancy for soup

1 cup fresh or frozen broccoli flowerets
2 tbsp!. butter
1 lb!. skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into 1 1/2" pieces
1 can (10 3/4 oz!.) Campbell's? Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup (Regular, 98% Fat Free, 25% Less Sodium or Healthy Request?)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp!. ground black pepper
Directions:
Prepare linguine according to pkg!. directions in 3-qt!. saucepan!. Add broccoli during last 4 min!. of cooking time!. Drain well!.
Heat butter in 10" skillet over medium-high heat!. Add chicken and cook until well browned, stirring often!.
Stir soup, milk, cheese, black pepper and linguine mixture into skillet!. Cook until mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring occasionally!. Serve with additional Parmesan cheese
