Break the chocolate into pieces and put into a glass bowl that will sit on a saucepan!. Fill the saucepan with an inch or so of water but the water must not touch the bottom of the glass bowl!.Bring the water up to a simmer and gently melt the chocolate,stirring now and again untill nice and runny!.
You can melt chocolate in a microwave,but melt it 30 seconds at a time making absolutly sure it doesnt burn!.

It's best done in a double boiler!. If you don't have one, simmer it as slowly as you can, or put some water in a dutch oven, then put a small sauce pot in it such that the water is about halfway up the pot, then put the chocolate in the sauce pot, then heat up the water!. this will help prevent scorching the chocolate or having it separate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

take a large boiling pan with 3-4 inches of water in it and get it boiling!. Then put your chocolate in a smaller pan and holding the pan (or not if you don't have to) set the pan into the boiling water!. Stir almost constantly until your chocolate is how you want it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the best way to melt chocolate is put it in a tupperare, then boil some water in a pan (one that can put the tupperware into) and then put the tupperware floating in the pan of boiling water on the stove!. this stops direct contact melting the chocolate!. i would NOT recommend microwaveWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you don't have a double broiler!. Than you can put it in a microwave safe bowl and cook until melted 3/4 of the way and then take it out and stir until all of the chocolate is melted!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Toss your chocolate in the microwave on high for a minute and then stir it!. Keep lowering the time till you get the right texture!.
