Alternative for Cream of Tartar?!
I am making donuts, and the recipe says I need cream of tartar, which I assume is to help the Bicarbonate of Soda work!.
I have lemons, citric acid and white vinegar!. Can any of these be used instead of Cream of Tartar in my donut recipe!?
Or does anyone recommend something different!?

Cream of Tartar Substitution Cream of tartar and baking soda are usually found together in recipes for cakes, cookies etc!. This combination of ingredients
acts like baking powder!. Therefore, baking powder can be substituted according to the formula* that follows!. Remember to OMIT BOTH SODA AND CREAM OF TARTAR when using baking powder in your donuts!.
*One teaspoon baking powder is equivalent to 1/4 teaspoon baking soda plus 5/8 teaspoon cream of tartar!. If there is additional baking soda that does not fit into the equation, simply add it to the batter!.
3!. www!.allrecipes!.com suggests 1/4 teaspoon baking soda plus 1/2 cup buttermilk !.
With this one REDUCE LIQUID BY ? CUP

Substitute 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice or white vinegar for each 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar called for!. Keep in mind that vinegar may alter the taste of the final product!. Simple as pie!. =)
OR!.!.!.the better solution to not changing the flavor would be just omit the cream of tartar all together!.
If cream of tartar is used along with baking soda in a cake or cookie recipe, omit both and use baking powder instead!.
