What is your fave way to prepare Ham and Navy Bean Soup?!

BEAN SOUP
1 lb!. dry navy beans
1 ham bone with meat
Soak beans overnight in 3 quarts water!. Drain!. In a large soup pot put ham bone and beans!. Add 2 quarts cold water and simmer for 2 hours!. Add:
4 c!. mashed potatoes, minimum (more makes soup thicker)
3 med!. onions, chopped
2 garlic buds, minced
2 stalks celery, chopped
4 tbsp!. fresh parsley, chopped
1 tsp!. salt
1/4 tsp!. pepper
Simmer all for 1 hour more!.
OR
SENATE BEAN SOUP
1 lb!. dried, marrow, navy, pea or great northern beans
Smoked ham bone with meat or 2 ham hocks
2 garlic cloves
3 med!. potatoes, cooked & mashed
1 c!. chopped onion
1 c!. chopped celery
3-4 carrots, grated
Wash and soak beans overnight in water to cover!. Add water to make 5 quarts!. Add ham bone!. Simmer 2 hours or until beans begin to mush!. Add potatoes, mashed, also onion, celery and garlic!. Simmer 1 hour!. Remove bone; cut up meat and return to soup!. Season to taste with salt and pepper!.
Makes about 4 1/2 quarts!.

NINE BEAN SOUP MIX AND NINE BEAN SOUP
Barley pearls
Black beans
Red beans
Pinto beans
Navy beans
Great northern beans
Lentils
Black-eyed peas
Combine all dried beans, barley pears and lentils together!.
SOUP:
2 c!. nine bean soup mix
3/4 tsp!. salt
2 qts!. water
1 lg!. onion, chopped
1 lb!. ham, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (16 oz!.) can tomatoes, undrained and chopped
1 (10 oz!.) can tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
(I use 1 quart of my canned tomatoes and 1 small can chopped green chilies!.)
I also add Nature's Seasons, hot pepper and black pepper to taste!.
Sort and wash 2 cups bean mix; place in Dutch oven!. Cover with water 2 inches above beans; let soak overnight or all day!. Drain beans!. Add water, ham, onion, garlic and tomatoes!.
Cover and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender!. Add remaining ingredients; simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally!. Yields: 8 cups soup!.
