Add a teaspoon of Cream of Tartar!. The Tartar neutralizes the Chile!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'd just make another liter of the stuff and mix it up!. Granted, you'll be eating this soup for a lot longer, but at least now it won't be "hideously spicy"!. You can't really mask the spiciness of it, because the spiciness from the chillies won't be reduced any by using other flavors!. Only by decreasing concentration by volume will work!.
I've never heard of Cream of Tartar being a neutralizer for capsaicin, which is the active ingredient in chillies that makes everything all spicy!. However, if it really were true, you could try it in a small batch of the soup before you add tartaric acid to the whole pot!.
You might be able to invent some sort of pumpkin vegetable curry dish using the pumpkin soup as a base!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe you could cook some plain lentils and stir that into the dish, but that would increase the quantity of soup, and depending on your situation, freezing the soup could be inconvenient, or very handy for the future!.
Or, you could squeeze a lot of lemon over it, I personally love the contrast of the sour and the chilli!.
Another one, would be to stir in tomatoes as that would soften the flavor a lot, the soup would taste different to what you set out to create though!.
Maybe add some tinned coconut cream to the soup, that would taste nice, but again, it would be a different soup!.
Or, serve as it is adding a dollop of greek yogut and some lemon juice over it to contrast with the heat!. I love greek yogut with soup, so healthy too!.
Adding extra water would dilute flavorr too, but changing texture of course!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You might try adding potatoes to it!. potatoes absorb like mad!. also add more water, a few parsnips and a can of the pumpkin into your soup!. once you have doubled it, it should be way less spicey!. then pour off a couple of quarts and take it to a church to feed the homeless!. You will feel good that everyone that is homeless gets to eat your wonderful soup and you dont have to eat it every day for 6 monthsWww@FoodAQ@Com
I agree with the person above!. Use some Cream of Tartar!. My father is a chef and that is what he does!. Yu can use some white whine to tone down the flavor!.
Hope this helps

Add a lil cream of tartar,
and if you don't have, you can even add a little water!.!. but cream of tartar works wonders!.
You can mix some veggies in it and use it as spaghetti sauce, that's what I do!.!.

I would add butter ( my favorite condiment), dairy cuts the heat from spicy foods, this happened to me once!. I put a tablespoon of butter in the dish every time i served it!. sour cream might also be nice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Cook some rice, put a big scoop of rice in a bowl and ladle some of the soup over it!. Sounds delicious by the way; wish I could try your soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Try diluting it with some vegetable stock!. You might be able to dilute it with some kind of milk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
